Buttermilk Cornbread

2 cups of cornmeal 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 1 teaspoon of sugar 2 eggs 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1 teaspoon of salt 1½ cups of buttermilk 3 tablespoons of melted fat or oil Mix cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add buttermilk, eggs and fat (or oil), Beat well. Fill a greased baking pan half full. Bake at 4750F (hot oven) about 20 minutes until browned.
